Biography

Miranda defended her MSc thesis in Population and Public Health in October 2011.  Her research examined the impact of changes in pharmaceutical policy on online searches for emergency contraception, and explored ways to improve access to high quality web-based resources related to EC.  She recently completed an internship at the Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives, BC Office.  Miranda's research interests include: the social and structural determinants of health inequities, and the potential role of e-health technologies in helping to address inequities in health literacy, services delivery and outcomes. Miranda currently works as a Research Assistant at the National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health.
