Research Interests

  • Particulate emissions from engines, energy conservation, particle systems
  • Formation of ultrafine particles such as soot and inorganic fumes.
  • Particle formation and behavior in reacting systems such as found in processes for waste destruction and energy conversion.
  • Diesel engine emissions.
  • Supercritical water oxidation for water treatment.

Current Research

  • Isotopic and chemical methods for determining the source of particulate matter from engines.
  • Analysis of Cassiar Tunnel traffic and pollutant measurements to assess emission inventories.
  • Fouling of SCWO reactors by salts.
